Rocks

I wanted to make some rocks for ages.
Playing What a Cowboy finally pushed me to do it, but rather than the pale khaki desert colours, I plan to do them light greys, so I can use them for more varied games.

The process...

Cutting and shaping the foam scraps

Getting them glued up and based.

Stone circle for RPGs perhaps?

Sealed with ModgePodge then gravel based

Heavy coat all over with 50/50 mix of ModgePodge and black paint.

Half way through Dry Brushing.  Nice to see the difference.

Drybrushing all finished. Just going to add some dead grass tufts.

All done.  Happy with these. Made more than shown here (13 in total).

Ruins

Made a couple of these Ruins for 40k and modern games.  Cut from thin plywood and sprayed up with a little gravel added, they are simple but effective.

Hedges

Made some basic 2d hedges from mdf sheet.  The idea was to have some more 'soft' cover for games like Asymmetric Warfare.

Quite basic but fun to make and great to throw down some fast extras.

Game - Shifting Stones

This is a deceptivly simple game with endless replay value.  Simple to learn, complex to master.
Great fun family game.  We love it.

Game - Forbidden Jungle

This is excellent.  A Coop game for all players to work together to find and power up the crystals and escape the jungle, all while avoiding or 'managing' the alien creatures.

Game - Kluster

Got this to try out.  Its fun, but can get samey fast.
It's perfect for a fill in quick game though.

GW Contrast Paints

I finally got around to giving the GW Contrast paints a good try.  So far Im impressed.  They're good on their own, but used alongside normal base and layers, they add a huge new dimension.

Here's a pic of the current line up from by the folks over on Tale Of Painters.

Loved playing What A Cowboy recently, so decided to buy some cheap dice blanks online and use a permanant marker to make my own dice for it :-)

What A Cowboy - Game

So Colin of Charlie Foxtrot models told me about this game, and after getting the rulebook last year, we hooked up with two more friends and tried it out.  What a blast.  Now we're all buying cowboy models and painting up more scenery lol.

Painting kit clean Up.

Been a while, so had a good tidy up, dust off, wipe down of my painting tray, bottles, etc.
Felt good.
Had to add medium to a lot of GW paints and mix the hell out of them.
The modern ones seem to dry out very fast :-(

Asymmetric Warfare - Game

My Mercs taking on Chris's Russians fighting over an HVT in the Cab of the truck in the middle.

Another awesome table Chris !

Cowards !  Come out and Play !

Too much overwatch to break cover !

Great spot. Safe up here.....

Spectre Operations to Asymmetric Warfare

With Spectre Operations going to 3rd edition with a completley new game, and the original writers of SpecOps 2 updating it and calling it Asymmetric Warfare, we looked into both new games.

In a nutshell, we didnt like SpecOps3, and loved AssymWar.  It contains all the things we fell in love with in specd ops 2, with smoothed and refined areas.

Weve been playing it for a while, and it gets better every time :-)

Asymetric Warfare available HERE.
